ABSTRACT

골관절염은 과거 퇴행성관절염으로 불리기도 한 가장 흔한 형태의 관절염이다. 골관절염은 주로 손가락관절 및 무릎관절을 포함하는 다양한 관절을 침범한다. 우리나라도 고령 사회에 접어들면서 골관절염에 대한 심각성이 점차 대두되고 있다. 따라서 조기진단과 치료가 중요한 실정이다. 지금까지 골관절염은 임상증상과 단순방사선검사를 바탕으로 진단하였다. 하지만 최근에는 골관절염의 진단에 초음파검사의 비중이 점차 증가되는 추세다. 그 이유는 초음파검사가 골관절염의 병적소견인 골극과 연골의 손상 및 활막염을 평가하는데 있어 매우 유용한 검사이기 때문이다. 따라서 이 논문의 목적은 최근에 발표된 연구자료를 토대로 실제 진료실에서 초음파검사를 시행하는데 도움이 되고자 한다. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, also called degenerative arthritis in the past. Osteoarthritis mainly affects various joints, including the finger joints and knee joints. As Korea enters an aging society, the severity of osteoarthritis is gradually increasing. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment are important. Up until now, osteoarthritis has been diagnosed based on clinical symptoms and plain radiography. However, recently, the proportion of ultrasound examinations in the diagnosis of osteoarthritis is gradually increasing. This is because ultrasound examinations are very useful for evaluating osteophytes, cartilage damage, and synovitis, which are pathologic findings of osteoarthritis. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to help perform ultrasound examinations in actual clinics based on recently published research data.
