Principles of Transparency and Best Practice

Table of Contents

1. Website

The URL of the official journal website is https://www.clinicalultrasound.org/. The Clinical Ultrasound managing team endeavors to make a good website. The Clinical Ultrasound website demonstrates that care has been taken to ensure high ethical and professional standards. It does not contain any misleading information, including any attempt to mimic another journal/publisher’s site.

2. Name of Journal

The official journal title is Clinical Ultrasound. The journal’s abbreviated title is Clin Ultrasound.

3. Peer Review Process

The Clinical Ultrasound has an online submission and peer review system at
https://submit.clinicalultrasound.org/.
All papers submitted to Clinical Ultrasound are reviewed by the editorial team before being sent out for an external peer review to rule out papers that have low priority, insufficient originality, scientific flaws, or the absence of a message of importance to the readers of the Journal. A decision about these papers will usually be made within two or three weeks. The remaining articles are usually sent to two reviewers. It would be very helpful if you could suggest a selection of reviewers and include their contact details. We may not always use the reviewers you recommend, but suggesting reviewers will make our reviewer database much richer; in the end, everyone will benefit. We reserve the right to return manuscripts in which no reviewers are suggested.

When the journal faces suspected cases of research and publication misconduct such as a redundant (duplicate) publication, plagiarism, fabricated data, changes in authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, an ethical problem discovered with the submitted manuscript, a reviewer who has appropriated an author’s idea or data, complaints against editors, and other issues, the resolving process will follow the flowchart provided by COPE (https://publicationethics.org/resources/flowcharts). The Editorial Board of Science Editing will discuss the suspected cases and reach a decision. Clinical Ultrasound will not hesitate to publish errata, corrigenda, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when needed.
